What is Maxem’s policy regarding firmware updates of charge points after commissioning?

During the lifetime of the charge point(s) at a location, it may be desirable to update the firmware version. What is Maxem’s policy on this?

Maxem is committed to ensuring optimal operation of the charge point(s) for the owner, users, and/or partner(s). Over time, it may be desirable to perform a firmware update to enable new functionalities or to further improve the general operation of the charge point(s).

These firmware updates are not performed automatically, but are always executed in consultation with the partner, and optionally with the charge point owner, to ensure optimal service. It is a requirement that the charge point owner ensures that no charging sessions are active and no vehicles are connected via the charging cable at the time of the update. This helps ensure the update is successful.

Maxem’s policy regarding firmware updates after commissioning is as follows:

  1. Coordination between Maxem and the partner (initiative can come from either side) regarding the desired firmware update;

  2. Coordination between the partner and the charge point owner on the preferred date for the firmware update;

  3. Feedback of the agreed date by the partner to Maxem;

  4. On the agreed date, the firmware update is carried out via MEC by Maxem or the partner.
