How does a partner, add a public charging card as a 'roaming free' charging card for a customer?

 Allow a public charging card to charge at one or more of a customer's charging stations without applying any 'roaming' surcharge fees.

Public charging cards can be added by partners in such a way that no 'roaming' surcharge fees are charged to the cardholder, by following the steps below:

  1. Log in to MEC.

  2. Navigate to 'Organizations' in the left-hand menu and select the relevant customer by clicking on their tile.

    • If it concerns a split billing customer, make sure to select the sub-organization (private entity), not the main organization (company), as charging cards need to be added at the organization level where the charging station(s) are located.

  3. Navigate to 'Users' in the left-hand menu and add the user as either a cardholder or administrator, depending on their role within the organization. Enter the user's first name, last name, and email address, and save.

  4. Navigate to 'Cards' in the left-hand menu and add the public charging card by first selecting the correct user. Then, under 'Public Card ID', enter the visible ID found on the front of the charging card and provide a nickname for the card. Save the entry.

  5. The card is now added to the organization and can be marked as 'roaming free' via the organization settings and the 'Whitelist' section by:

    • Selecting ‘Select users allowed to charge’;

    • Then turning off 'Grant Access' and turning on 'Roaming Free'.

With this setup, the charging card is marked as 'roaming free' for the charging stations of the relevant (sub)organization. Additionally, the card can be used as a whitelisted card for a potential main organization above, provided that the access mode of the parent organization allows whitelisting — for example, in the case of split billing.
