How do I setup a charging card as a roaming card?

When the access mode is properly set and the charging card is not on the whitelist, it will be set as a roaming charge card.

Check the access mode
  1. Select the correct organization from the left menu under 'Organizations' by clicking on the tile for the organization where the access mode needs to be changed. This will open the organization settings.

  2. Select the correct location under 'Locations' by clicking on the tile for the location where the access mode needs to be changed. This will open the location settings.

  3. Decide whether the access mode should be changed for the location or a specific charging station:

    • For the location:

      1. Select 'Location Settings' from the left menu.

      2. Select 'Access Mode' in the location settings menu and check if it is set to one of the two settings:

        • Roaming (Set this Location to public charging.): The public charging card holder pays.

        • Roaming + whitelisting (Set this Location to public charging. Allow certain users to charge for free.): The public charging card holder that is not on the whitelist pays. Users that are on the whitelist do not pay.

Make sure the access mode is set in the location settings to one of the two options:

    • For the charging station (asset):

      1. Select 'Assets' from the left menu.

      2. Select the correct charging station by clicking on the row for the charging station. This will open the charging station settings.

      3. Select 'Access Mode' in the charging station settings menu.

      4. Make sure the access mode will either inherit from the location or be set separately, depending on the selection.

Make sure the charge cards are not on the whitelist
  1. Click on the Maxem logo on the top left to go to the homepage.
  2. Navigate to ‘Organizations’ in the left-hand menu and select the relevant organization by clicking on their tile.

  3. Select 'Organization Settings' from the left menu.
  4. Navigate to ‘Passes’ in the tab and check if the pass is on this list. If the pass is on the list you can turn it off from the whitelist by clicking on the pencil icon and click on select 'Users that may charge' and turn off the slider for the charge cards you want to set to roaming.
  5. If the charge card is not in the list at all and the access mode is correctly set, the charging card will automatically behave as a roaming charge card.

FAQ

I set the above settings right, but the chargecard still behaves like a whitelist card.

If you have this problem please check in the location settings and asset settings whether the chargecard behavior is inherited from the organization settings.

  • For the location:

    1. Select 'Location Settings' from the left menu.

    2. Navigate to ‘Passes’: Make sure the passes will either inherit the settings from the organization or be set separately, depending on the selection.

  • For the charging station (asset):

    1. Select 'Assets' from the left menu.

    2. Select the correct charging station by clicking on the row for the charging station. This will open the charging station settings.

    3. Navigate to ‘Passes’: Make sure the 'Passes' settings will either inherit from the location or be set separately, depending on the selection.
