How can I setup Static Load Balancing in Maxem Energy Cloud?
The setup of Static Load Balancing (SLB) in Maxem Energy Cloud is designed to be user-friendly allowing customers or partners to configure it with ease.
SLB can be set up in two different ways
- From the location services settings
- Within the add asset flow.
To finalize the setup of SLB you need the following information:

The maximum allocated capacity for the chargers

Power limits for each charger and individual connector (usually preset but can be adjusted for faster charging within the defined limit).
Follow the steps below to set up SLB for your location.
Option 1: Setup from the location services settings
Step 1: Login to the Maxem Energy Cloud

Log in to your Maxem Energy Cloud account using your credentials.

Navigate to the location homepage of the site where you want to set up SLB.
Step 2: Navigate to the services settings

Click on the settings menu item located in the menu drawer on the left of the page.

Once the location settings dialog opens you should see the “Services” tab.

Here you will find the tile for the SLB service.
Step 3: Enabling Static Load Balancing
After navigating to the location services settings you can turn on the SLB service.

Click the toggle within the SLB service tile to ON

A dialog will pop up to verify that you would like to set up SLB. Continue by clicking the “continue” button.

During The first time you’re enabling SLB, Maxem Energy Cloud will guide you through the SLB Order Flow to configure your location for SLB:

First set the maximum capacity:

Enter the maximum capacity for the chargers and click the “Next”.

Then assign Power Limits per Charger and Socket:
-
Specify the power limit for each of your chargers and their sockets.
-
Click Next after filling in each field.
-

Lastly review and Confirm:
-
Review the overview of all parameters entered, including total capacity, charger limits, and connector limits.

After carefully validating the details click the “Order” button to finalize the setup.

Step 4: SLB Activation
-
Once you’ve clicked the “Order” button Maxem Energy Cloud will configure your assets and location for SLB. This will be done with the information filled-in in the order flow.

A confirmation pop-up will appear letting you know that SLB is being configured in the background.

Once the configuration has succeeded in the background the contact (or technical contact) will receive an email to inform that SLB has been ordered and is now running. This can also be seen in the location services settings with the toggle being turned on.
Step 5: Static Load Balancing is running

SLB is now running, managing power distribution in real time based on the limits and settings you configured.
Option 2: Setup within the add asset flow
Step 1: Login to the Maxem Energy Cloud

Log in to your Maxem Energy Cloud account using your credentials.

Navigate to the Asset screen for the location where you want to add an asset
Step 2: Add the general Asset information

Enter the details for your new charger(s)
Step 3: Select the add on: Static Load Balancing

In the subscription step select the add-on for SLB by clicking the “Static Load Balancing” button.

The Price for SLB will be displayed on the screen.

Step 4: Fill in the configuration details

After finalizing the asset setup, you will be prompted to order SLB.

What happens if SLB Can’t be enabled?
In rare cases Maxem Energy Cloud might be unable to automatically activate SLB. When this happens:

Maxem will send you an email that it was unable to activate SLB.

The Maxem team will reach out to assist with setting up SLB.
