Integration Process

When you choose to work with Maxem on a project featuring an unlisted battery system, we include the integration process as part of our project steps. Our comprehensive 7-phase integration workflow ensures reliable and optimized performance:

Phase 0 - Requirements Assessment Our Operations team determines if your ESS vendor meets our technical requirements, including physical infrastructure (grid meters, ESS meters, system load diagrams) and system capabilities (setpoint writing, measurement accuracy, power limits). We also assess your specific needs such as State of Charge targeting, scheduling features, and ESS capacity requirements.

Phase 1 - Discovery & Documentation We review vendor documentation, Modbus specifications, and verify on-site infrastructure including meters and internet connectivity. Our development team evaluates integration feasibility based on technical requirements and determines the optimal development approach.

Phase 2 - Software Development Our development team implements the necessary software components including Modbus mapping, management components for system control, watchdog protocols, and system configuration tools. All software undergoes rigorous testing, preferably in factory conditions.

Phase 3 - System Configuration We configure the LocalProxy for measurement sharing and set up the LocalController database to bind all components together, including the ESS algorithm, meters, and communication components.

Phase 4 - On-Site Integration Following physical installation, we apply location-specific configurations and conduct comprehensive integration testing. This phase may be repeated as needed to ensure optimal performance.

Phase 5 - Live Testing & Monitoring We implement passive monitoring with alerts and manually verify system performance during key operational periods (1-2 weeks). Any necessary adjustments to limits or margins are made during this phase.

Phase 6 - Production Launch Your battery system goes live with full Maxem integration and ongoing support.
