What is Maxem Fire Safety?
Maxem Fire Safety: Enhancing EV Infrastructure with Smart Safety Features
Maxem Fire Safety is an advanced safety feature designed to enhance the security of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. In the event of a fire alarm, this intelligent system automatically halts all active charging sessions, ensuring that connected vehicles are promptly unlocked from their charging stations. This functionality allows emergency services to evacuate vehicles swiftly and safely, without damaging charging cables.
The system is engineered to integrate seamlessly with existing fire detection systems and operates locally on the Maxem Energy Controller. This local operation guarantees reliable performance even in the absence of an internet connection. Maxem Fire Safety is compatible with both AC and DC charging stations that are already connected to the Maxem Energy Cloud, providing comprehensive support across various charging setups.
A key technical feature of the system is its use of a volt-free contact to interface with the building’s fire alarm system. This ensures a robust and fail-safe connection that triggers the safety protocols effectively. Once the site is deemed safe, the system can be reactivated and any paused charging sessions can be resumed, minimizing disruption to EV users.
By integrating Maxem Fire Safety, facilities can significantly bolster their emergency response capabilities, ensuring both the safety of occupants and the protection of valuable assets.
Note: For the Maxem Fire Safety feature a Maxem Energy Controller is required on site.
