How do I add charging stations in the Maxem Energy Cloud?

This article is meant for Partners of Maxem with partner admin rights. To add a charging station you first need to create an organization and location for your client. To learn how to add an organization go to the ‘Managing organizations’  and ‘Managing locations’ section.

A charging point is added under the location of the respective organization, with two options for adding a charging point.

Requirements:

  • One or more compatible charging stations have been set up on site with Maxem as the back office, or the charging stations will be set up at a later date.

Required steps:

  1. From the left menu, first select 'Organizations', then choose the correct organization where the charging point should be added to the location by clicking on the tile of the organization. This will navigate you within this organization.

  2. Select 'Locations' in the left menu of the platform.

  3. Click on the tile of the location of the organization to navigate within the location.

  4. Select 'Assets' in the left menu of the platform.

  5. Add a charging point to the location of the organization by clicking '+ Add asset(s)' and following the next five steps:

Step 1: Enter the ID of the asset

  • Enter the ID of the asset. Make sure you use the right capital or lowercase letters. For example Abc_12345. If the charging stations on site are not set up yet with Maxem as backoffice then you can choose to add the asset as 'preapproved'

  • Check if the asset is added to the correct location.

Step 2: Fill in technical information of the asset

  • Fill in the requested technical information. Note: If you have added multiple charging points, the information you provide here will be implemented for all charging points.
  • You can not add AC and DC charge points at the same time.
  • Example fill in
    • Maximum charging point current (A): 16 (for 16A).

    • Maximum current per socket (A): 16 (for 16A).

    • Number of phases: 1 or 3 (phase).

    • Number of sockets/cables: 1 (for a single socket) and 2 (for a double charging point).

    • Charging station voltage (V): 230.

    • Connection type: Socket (in case of ‘Socket’).

    • Communication type: Wired (in case of network cable).

Step 3: Select the subscriptions you need for the assets that are being added

  • Check which subscriptions you require and select them.

  • Fill in the starting date for the subscriptions to become active.
  • Optional: If you want to add Static Load Balancing, select the add-on for SLB by clicking the “Static Load Balancing” button.
    • The Price for SLB will be displayed on the screen.

Step 4: Select the access mode

  • Select what the roaming and whitelisting settings should be at this station.

Step 5: Insert the tariffs for the asset(s)

  • Set the tariffs you want to charge at the uploaded assets.
  • Press "Add this asset" to add the asset to your location
  • This is the last step if you did not choose Static Load Balancing

Optional: Step 6: Fill in the configuration details for Static Load Balancing

  • After finalizing the asset setup, you will be prompted to order SLB.

  • During The first time you’re enabling SLB, Maxem Energy Cloud will guide you through the SLB Order Flow to configure your location for SLB:

    • First we’ll set the maximum capacity:

      • Enter the maximum capacity for the chargers and click the “Next”.

    • Then assign Power Limits per Charger and Socket:

      • Specify the power limit for each of your chargers and their sockets.

      • Click Next after filling in each field.

    • Lastly review and Confirm:

      • Review the overview of all parameters entered, including total capacity, charger limits, and connector limits.

      • After carefully validating the details click the “Order” button to finalize the setup.

  • Once you’ve clicked the “Order” button Maxem Energy Cloud will configure your assets and location for SLB. This will be done with the information filled-in in the order flow.
  • A confirmation pop-up will appear letting you know that SLB is being configured in the background.

  • Once the configuration has succeeded in the background the contact (or technical contact) will receive an email to inform that SLB has been ordered and is now running. This can also be seen in the location services settings with the toggle being turned on.

Important note: By clicking the 'Add this asset' button, you authorize Maxem to collect the relevant subscription fees by automatic collection from your bank for all subscription fees to be paid. You agree that your subscription will start immediately and that you can no longer cancel the contract to receive a refund during the term. You agree with the subscriptions term being a full year for new subscriptions. Maxem will charge the monthly or annual fee on a recurring basis. You may cancel at the end of the year term and after that monthly. Partial months or years will not be refunded or credited.
