How can I see if a charging card is accepted by the charging station?
Charging stations added to the Energy Cloud communicate the authorization or validity of a charging card through an OCPP (Open Charge Point Protocol) message to the platform. The charging station performs a check to determine if the charging card is allowed to start a transaction. Depending on the validity of a public charging card, which must be communicated by the card issuer, and the access mode set for the charging station via the platform, the charging station then decides whether a transaction is started. It may happen that a charging card is not authorized, but the charging transaction still begins.
Steps:
-
In the left menu, select ‘Organizations’, then click on the tile of the correct organization for which the charging card authorization needs to be checked. This will drill you into that organization.
-
In the left menu, select ‘Locations’, then click on the tile of the correct location for which the charging card authorization needs to be checked. This will drill you into the location of the organization.
-
In the left menu, select ‘Assets’, then click on the row of the correct charging station for which the charging card authorization needs to be checked.
-
In the charging station settings menu, select ‘Activity’ and check the ‘Authorization’ column for the timestamp when the card was presented at the (card reader of the) charging station:
-
“ACCEPTED” means that the charging card is authorized by the charging station.
-
“INVALID” means that the charging card is not authorized by the charging station.
