Can I remove the Maxem controller at my home from the wall myself?
You can disconnect the power cable and UTP cables from the Maxem controller to turn the Maxem off. However, removing the controller itself is only possible if you have a direct meter. We advise against disconnecting Maxem Controllers with indirect meters yourself; this must be done by a installer.
Disconnecting the charging station and internet connection from the Maxem Controller
Disconnect the charging station and the internet from the Maxem controller by disconnecting the two UTP cables from the Maxem controller. Do not disconnect the other cables yet.

How do I recognize what type of meters I have and if I can disconnect them?
Do not disconnect a Maxem with indirect meters:
If cables are connected to the CT ports, then you have indirect meters and you cannot disconnect the controller. We recommend having this done by an installer. It is safe to have the controller and meters mounted and removed during other fuse box work.

If you have direct meters, connected to the P1 or RS ports, you can disconnect the meter from the Maxem Controller. If you have a combination of direct and indirect meters, you can only safely disconnect the direct meter.

How do I remove the Maxem Controller from the wall?
Only do this if all the cables could be disconnected. You can detach the Maxem from the wall by sliding it straight upward. You'll see a back plate screwed to the wall. Unscrew the back plate with a screwdriver to remove it completely.
