How do I turn off smart charging on my charging station with a Maxem Home controller?
If you no longer use your Maxem Home Controller, you can switch off smart charging in your charging station settings. This ensures that your charging station charges again at maximum power. In this article, you can read how to change the settings in the charging stations of Tesla, Keba, and Alfen.
Tesla Wall Connector
You can use the Tesla Wall Connector without control from our controller. You can optionally set the TWC high, but you must take your home consumption into account. You can still limit the charging speed via your Tesla app.
To set the charging speed, you need to unscrew the charger cover. Note that you must first switch off the circuit breaker for the charging station and check that there is no more voltage on the circuit, before unscrewing the charging station, and setting the rotary switch to position “3” (or higher). To loosen the cover, you will need a T10 Torx screwdriver and a T20 Torx screwdriver.
In the following image, you can see where this rotary switch is located inside the charging station.

The rotary switch is currently still on F. The following table shows which number corresponds to which charging speed. For example, for charging at 3x 10A, position 3 must be selected. After setting the rotary switch to a fixed charging speed, Smart Charging is disabled.

Keba
Note that you must first switch off the circuit breaker for the charging station and check that there is no more voltage on the circuit, before unscrewing the charging station. Open the Keba charging station. See the image for the location of the dipswitches for switching off Smart Charging.

Set DSW 1.3 to “OFF” on the charging station. This deactivates smart charging.
Alfen
Deactivating Active Load Balancing: Via the Alfen Ace Service Installer, you can go to 'Loadbalancing' in the menu. Here you can switch off 'Active loadbalancing' by removing the checkmark. Save the settings.
